New silicon

It was a long time in the waiting – and my old machine (2011) is still quite capable of all but the latest Apple operating systems and some tool software I require in my day-to-day work and personal activities. So here we are.

A 2023 M2 14″ MacBook Pro with 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

It has plenty under the hood and on the windscreen to provide me a decade or more of speedy service. The old laptop holds about 2 hours of running charge and can do most things well enough. It struggles with previewing more complex SwiftUI layouts in Xcode, but I can’t complain. It has been a true work-horse and has served well. No issues ever.

I’m lucky to be able to use this.
